ShareChat

ShareChat is a social media platform founded in India in 2015 by three IIT Kanpur alumni, Ankush Sachdeva, Bhanu Singh, and Farid Ahsan. It is a mobile-first social network that allows users to create and share content in multiple Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and Marathi.

The platform has gained popularity in India due to its focus on regional languages, which has made it accessible to a wide range of users across the country. ShareChat has over 160 million monthly active users and is available in 15 Indian languages.

ShareChat allows users to create and share different types of content, including short videos, images, and text-based posts. The platform also includes a range of features, such as a feed that shows posts from users that a user follows, the ability to follow other users, and a search function that allows users to find content related to specific topics.

In addition to its social media platform, ShareChat has also launched several other products, including a video-sharing app called Moj, which is designed to compete with TikTok, and a social commerce platform called ShareChat Shop, which allows users to buy products directly from the platform.

ShareChat has become an important player in the Indian social media landscape, providing a platform for users to share and consume content in their native languages. It has also attracted significant investment from both domestic and international investors, highlighting the growing importance of regional language content in India's digital economy.
